Convert V brakes to disc brakes.?

Hello everyone, I'm changing my brakes V-brake disc. As I am on the side of the budget, I have no money to spare. So I'm thinking of converting my game Values wheel: Alloy double wall ATB with CNC brake surface for a wheelset for disc brakes simply by changing the shaft to a Shimano XT M756 hubset that allows me to use 6 Bolt Rotor. Is this possible change and what problems i will face if any. Thanks a lot for advice.

You can do it for under $ 200 if you smart purchase. The reconstruction of the wheels is too long and if you can not do the work yourself, then you definitely will be cheaper to buy just the wheels new. Furthermore, it may not be able to reuse your old radios if they are of different length than the size required with new center. I definitely want use new nipples, even if you re-use the spokes. A shop will charge about $ 20 - $ 50 in labor to do this, so when you add the cost centers, most of the time not moving forward. I'd recommend that you take a pair of Avid BB7 mechanical disc ... about $ 49 each in online at this time. If you have many long descents can be seen with a 185 mm rotor in front, but definitely the normal use of 160 mm in the rear. The '09 models come with all adapters you need for what is set. You can use your v-brake levers age, but you might want to pick up some new homes compressionless brake. These are the best mechanics and cheap .... and to compete with the performance of many hydraulic discs if properly configured and burn them on the rotors. Jenson has a couple of sets of wheels for under $ 100, which would probably be fine. This is a basic set with center xc Deore (honestly there really is not much difference in the Deore, LX and XT). http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product/WH289A05-Wtb+Dual+Duty+Shimano+Deore+Wheelset+Oe.aspx This is heavier, but much more durable if you have a pile of rocks, or perform any jump. http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product/WH707A17-Shimano+Deore+Discrhyno+Lite+Wheelset.aspx guess both the holder and the framework of the disc clamp mounting tabs ..... Otherwise you're screwed. : O) Hope this helps some ... new brakes enjoy!
