Removing tags from a car
Removing a label from a car can be easy if you follow these steps
1) Determine If the decal is permanent (more than 90% are permanent, although a new adhesive product has been launched, which allows easy removal). This can be checked just the finger nails to try to peel the decal.
2) Determine the type of surface attach the adhesive a. If the label is affixed to the window the car, and then a metal razor blade can be used to remove the decal. If the label is in the painted surface of a car, we recommend the use of a metal blade, it is easy to scratch the surface
3) For the stickers attached to painted surfaces use any of the following techniques
- Use a rubber pad, like the Wonder Wheel, which binds to a standard drill. The rubber pad wears the label (and most adhesives)
- Heat the decal with a hair dryer or heat gun. Use a low heat setting and the place just a couple of inches away from the label. While using the hair dryer, peel off the label with your other hand.
Note: If the label is a reflection, then uses a different way of vinyl which is much thicker. These tags are very difficult to remove and Wonder Wheel are recommended for this purpose
4) Once the decal has been removed, use a natural product such as eucalyptus oil to remove the remaining adhesive.
5) If re-apply a new label, be sure to clean the surface thoroughly with tap water to ensure the surface is ready for the new sticker. If the eucalyptus oil remains on the surface, the decal does not stick again correctly to the surface
