Hydraulic disc brakes and rotor compatibility?
Hi, I own a draft aruiga hydraulic disc brake Tektro (07) and wonder if I can use other brake rotor as Hayes or Avid. But my rotor current is a little thicker than others, such as Hayes or greedy, so it is what really matters. thanks
The thickness does not really matter ..... or at least it should not. I've never seen a rotor which is * that * much thicker than others which were imported. I have not paid much attention to the rotor Tektro I've seen or ridden, however. Most rotors are interchangeable between different brands of tweezers without problems. Sizes are strange out there, however, so if the rotors are more about 5 mm difference in diameter, which is a problem with the touch pad and positioning in the braking surface. If that is the case, sometimes you can adjust or wedge something .... if not, then you have to stick with the "right" of the rotor. Most of the time there is a problem, however. Hope this helps! : O)
