How I can change my hand bicycle shift cable?
I have a SRAM shifter maximum grip and yesterday my cable broke. (Inside is not wired, the attachment to deraileur. I took off the handle removed housing and the cable seems to be attached on the inside and there is no way I see to remove it. I bought a new cable before removing the cover, but there is no way that seems to remove the old cable. Do I have to buy a new shifter with the cable connected or is there a way to remove the old cable? Thanks for the amswer Bob. I saw the video too and the part where says simply "slide the cable out of the house is where I have trouble. mine does not move at all ... as attached in the interior.
Here is how you do it. You have to pull the cable out of the house. Edit http://bicycletutor.com/grip-shift-cable/. If you can pull the other way to cut the cable shifter or cut the part that is frayed. Otherwise, you must obtain a new home. Http: / / bicycletutor.com / replace-cable-housings /
