Sun Ringle Zuzu Pedals?

I have a mountain bike with Sun Ringle Zuzu pedals. I've had for several years and have begun to feel a pop in one and there is a little play when moving hand. I guess the bearings are bad or getting there. Is it possible to replace the bearings (which opened the pedal and it seems they are sealed bearings) or I'm better off alone replacing the pedals?

Ugh ..... take that further and check carefully the shaft. I had two pairs of pedals that began that crack and then broke. For Luckily I never put any sharp metal object in the leg. You may hear You're just worn bearings, or bearings that fall out of their homes, but check shaft. You can easily replace the bearings ..... just look on the label and you should see the standard catalog number. I'm all about reducing waste and keep things going when possible, but if the pedals are too far, they are expensive to replace. Good luck!
