I Truvativ Cranks Isis Hussefelt mtb … PROBLEM!?
I put my rods and got stuck so I hit it, now I have the crank removal tool and the left came off easily, but the right has a small crack in the thread (2 slots) so it tends to screw, my friend told me its made of aluminum alloy so i cannot new thread ... I think I can, but preferably want specialist advice.
Overall, the threads in any part can be re-used whenever are not damaged so badly. You spoke of "notches" ... I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but if that means there are two "mild" students in the threads and nothing else, running the tap to correct through the threads could make a professional. Like most cyclists do not have the key correct or die, I suggest you take the rods to their local bike shop or a machine shop and get an opinion. None of the options must be expensive.
