Is there something I could use to clamp an exhaust flange to ….?
Is there something I could use to clamp an exhaust flange to the upper end of the flex pipe, that attaches to my cars catalytic converter, without welding? The diamond-shaped flange, with the two bolt holes on either side, snapped off. Or, is there a way to fasten the pipe to the cat. without a flange? Maybe I could somehow knock the flange off the cat converter, and fasten the two parts using a band flange? (I could just replace the flex pipe, or buy a propane torch, but if I could fix the thing with a 10 – 20 dollar piece … that would be better ….
measure the diameter of both openings.. buy a water pipe galvanized close to the size.. then get the exact size of both openings. diameter.. take the galvanized pipe to midas.. they have hydrallic expanders.. and have the pipe sized to the diameter you found.. if the water pipe is to heavy for the hydrallic expanders have a piece made and expanded on each end to the exact diameter of the male end ok.. then clamp them
